HISTORY OF THE CHARITABLE FUND "ASPERN"
The History of the "Fund “Aspern" began in 1997, when Koshil Vera Ivanivna accompanied her group of children to a small area of Vienna (Austria) under the name of Aspern.
In the period from 1997 to 2007, 50 Ukrainian orphans, as well as children from large families with low-income families, visited Austrian families every year. For children, health improvement programs, as well as cultural and local lore studies were organized. Many of the children who did not have parents found tats and moms here, and Austrian parents were eagerly waiting for the arrival of little guests and preparing for him all year round.
Father Georg Stokart, community leader, Helga Tippel, organizer of trips to Austria, and representatives of Caritas Vienna, Felicitas Philippe and Birgit Ertl, did their best to make these trips happen. Every year, the children discovered the new parties of the local community and found new reasons for enjoying life, despite the experienced life difficulties.
In those years, one of the biggest social problems in Ukraine was the problem of child homelessness. Therefore, the first socially significant project of the "Fund “Aspern”, founded in Ukraine in 2000, was the Center for the Support of Homeless Children, which provided social support services. In the center, children could spend the night, get food and clothes. However, the Center did not last long - in 2005 it was closed by the order of local authorities.
For a period of six months, the search for a new premises that succeeded when the new government appeared in Darnytskyi district and the deputy chairman Sentsov Gennady Lvovich and deputies of the Darnytsky City Council of Kyiv expressed their support in the project "Social dormitory for youth “House on the half-way" .
Since that time, the "Fund “Aspern" gradually, with each passing year, opened new and new projects in the field of child protection.
